Despite growing up  in Pearl, a charming small town, Delilah has never really fit in, to either the town or her family. Luckily, she has the Five, a group of women who’ve been friends since forever. With their support, and Delilah’s goal of running a successful organic soap company, life is good….until Peach Pit arrives.

Peach Pit is a cosmetic MLM peddling organic, all natural body care, and several of Delilahs friends have signed up as Peach Pit Darlings to host parties and sell the products. But Peach Pit is not all it seems.

My feelings about this book are mixed. On one hand, everything about it felt a little over the top. On the other hand, having lived in the South (southeastern USA) for several years, it can be Just Like That. Delilah has spent her whole life keeping the peace at all costs with her family and as a result feels like a wet noodle of a character. Betsy, our other POV, had made being a Peach Pit Darling her whole personality. The other 3 women are just background characters in this war between the MLM believers and the skeptics.

The pacing of this book was a little off, it seemed to take FOREVER for any significant revelations to occur and when they did, they were randomly dropped into the story almost like afterthoughts. The romance subplot was VERY sub, hardly part of the plot at all. It probably could have been solved sooner had Delilah ever been allowed to communicate her own feelings as a child. The dual POV was off-putting and felt unnecessary and a little strange.

Overall, I would give this book 2 stars. It unfortunately just wasn’t very memorable.
